When we review manuscripts or proposals, we look for something that makes us pause, shut the book for a few moments, and ponder what we just read. We look for concepts that enlarge our view of the reality that underlies our illusory perception of it. This can take many forms: spiritual, political, philosophical, and a plethora of areas we can't possibly foresee. These concepts can be expressed in both fiction and nonfiction, and hence, we publish both. We rule out nothing, so long as it is skillfully presented.
